Hmm.. well, one of the problems with info products is that so many can either be downloaded free from torrent-type sites, or the same information can also be found elsewhere. Within the "money-making" niche anyways, many of your prospective customers won't actually have alot of money to spare in the first place (that's why they're looking), so they don't mind spending a bit of time searching to find it free.

It may help to promote only high-converting, recently-released CB products, or services that bill monthly, but even then, many of the older & most profitable niches have simply become way too competitive. You're much better off finding some new, unsaturated, or "trending" niche or product, and targeting impatient customers with money to burn.

Alas, using broad matched keywords as domain names is also by nature an extremely un-targeted approach to marketing. And even with decent search volume, it's just a "passive" domain name strategy... you can't even narrow down the field with "negative" keywords! Consequently, you may get clicks but you probably won't make very many sales.

Adwords newbies often fail by using broad match keywords to get lots of clicks, which is great for Google, but not for sales. Even though you're not paying for traffic, don't make the same basic mistake. Try using only higher volume long-tail keywords as your domain names. (If you can find any, that is!)

Think that Adsense will make you more than selling products? Well, consider that even once you've landed a visitor to your sniper site, they probably won't click on the very same "sponsored" ads that they've just seen and/or ignored at the top of the search results page anyways, nor if they think that they're more likely to find what they're actually looking for by just returning, and/or refining their search terms.

IMHO, the "sniper" method may produce a bit of residual income IF you put up enough exact match domain sites AND get good position in the SERPs, but if you want to make any real money quickly, and with any degree of certainty, you'll just have to advertise properly, and in the right media.

Oh the humor about writing anything critical of Peru at all. Probably the most annoying thing in general about Peru, is that debating is just impossible.

Cristiano: I don't know where you lived around in Denmark, but that does sound pretty bad. Could you maybe tell me which part of Copenhagen it was?
Anyways, I think you do have a point about the thing with people thinking you are Bosnian. This is actually what I hate about Denmark the most; unfortunately we have lots of racist and judgmental people, who does look down at immigrants - and in general people from other countries.
It sounds like you should write a post about Sweden, comparing those to countries when you get there. I'm sure you will find a lot of similarities and differences about those two, just as I did with Peru/Chile. ;-)

Dear "yoursuchastupidumbfuck" (or "jaoe@gmail.com"):
I just couldn't help accepting your comment - it's just hilarious. But maybe you should just calm down, read my post again, and see that I am not criticizing Peru, just comparing the feeling of living in those to countries? You'r a good example, however, of the type of Peruvian who I just got tired of. Please go travel to other cities, countries and cultures - and you will see that the world is bigger than Peru. If you prefer Lima/Peru - thats fine, its your opinion! But that doesn't mean that everybody has to think its the best place in the world. :-)

Daniel:
Thanks for your comment. About your request, I am currently living in Santiago - and we unfortunately closed our startup in Peru.
I am no expert in SEO, and I honestly havent done that much specifically for the Peruvian market. But you are always welcome to email me whatever questions you have, and I will try to give you my best answer. ;-)

Regards

Hi Christian,

Are you still living in Lima or in Santiago?

How is the company that you started in Lima, is it working out?

Reading all your posts, it seems you are a pro at search engine optimization. Have you worked on SEO in Peru, and do you have some extra time to do small work on a start up in Lima?

Best,

------Denmark vs Sweden: Differences and Similarities In The Culture-------

Dear Christian, Differences and Similarities you will find everywhere, like Denmark vs Sweden, as example below I found some people have had ugly experiences in Danmark:

I am contemplating a move to Sweden soon, I lived over 1 year in Denmark and did not like that experience at all.

I disliked several things while I was in Denmark. One was that it seemed you needed to be part of a "old boys network" to get anything done. So I couldn't even view homes to rent until I paid kr 10,000 to an agent. The landlord tried to steal my deposit when I left. There were never any people walking around the streets of our neighborhood, or children out playing. The playgrounds were run down and dangerous from lack of maintenance. This was in the nice coastal area north of Copenhagen. I also felt a bit of discrimination. When I spoke Norwegian with an American accent, people thought for some reason I was Bosnian speaking Danish, and I experienced a bit of what the refugees experienced at that time. And when we moved, the shipping agent forged our contract to exclude door-to-door shipping after we left Denmark. Lucky me, I had a copy of the original.

Many of the details faded, but it left me with a general impression of "nice place to visit, but I don't want to live there any more."

------Sorry to hear about your ugly experience in Denmark. You will find Sweden to be a much more pleasent place. People are more open and friendly (comparing with Danish).
Welcome to Sweden!

Hey guys, thanks for your comments.

@ "Santiago" (linkbuilding, eh?)
I will agree on the fact that Chile is much more mix, and (I think) much bigger mix of European immigrants (a lot of German descendants in the south). Peru however, has a big mix of natives from the different parts (Selvaticas, Cholos, and all of those "bad words"), as they just have more diversity. Jungle, highlands and coast.

@Rudy Godoy:
I would put my vote on Santiago. Chile is much more developed with a rising middle-class. This gives the type of people that choose their education and career based on interested and not based on money, parents decisions or the alike. What you really want to find is people passionate about what they do, not just people looking for another standard job to earn their daily salary. And I have just (personally) met more skilled developers in Santiago and seen more examples of good dev agencies than in Lima.

@Francis:
Please do it! I would love to see some more pubs in Lima - the city definitely lacks a good pub. Can you open one that has REAL draft beer?
However I don't agree that Chile lacks identity. The two countries and cultures are just so different, while both being south american. Must admit that I have a love for both countries.

I think Chile lacks identidy - even if Lima and Peru as a whole is crazy and behind in terms of infrastructure it does has a buzz that Chile lacks. I live in the UK and I will defo consider to move to Lima an open a pub!

Hi Victoria, thanks for your comment.

I must say that I do not agree; and the fact that saying "3 years is not enough to know the culture, so don't form your own opinions!" is just bullshit. It is the same as the Danes telling me "you are not in Denmark, so why are you complaining about Danish politics? Shut the fuck up if you are not here..." - that is about the most stupid arguments I have ever heard about.

1) I have met people living for 5-10 years in Peru, still living in their little expat-bubble. I dare saying that in my 3 years, I met, befriended and talked with more Peruvians than they have in their lifetime. I'm not saying I met every type of Peruvian, or that I somehow know better than everybody else, but I do entitle myself to form my own opinions, based on what I see and experience. If this is 1, 2, 3 or even 20 years, does not matter at all.

2) You mention there is a high probability my opinion is biased? Of course it is biased! It is biased towards what I think and believe, based on my experience, talks and people I have met throughout my time in Peru. I'm not writing a research paper, or making un-biased political statements. I am speaking my mind, and writing about why I think and believe.

With my two points above, my main point is that you do not need to be a professor in Peruvian history to enter a discussion about Peru. Nor do you have to be Peruvian or live 10 years in Peru.

Just like you don't even have to live in Denmark to talk and discuss about the Danish wellfare system. Actually it is often a great discussion I have with some of my US friends, when to compare South America, US & European systems, where we often have some great debates (and most of us would love to see a mix of the systems).

Lastly: nice to see the debate continues. Never be afraid of speaking your mind. ;-)

Best of luck
- Christian

I dare saying that in my 3 years, I met, befriended and talked with more Peruvians than they have in their lifetime. I’m not saying I met every type of Peruvian, or that I somehow know better than everybody else, but I do entitle myself to form my own opinions, based on what I see and experience. If this is 1, 2, 3 or even 20 years, does not matter at all.

2) You mention there is a high probability my opinion is biased? Of course it is biased! It is biased towards what I think and believe, based on my experience, talks and people I have met throughout my time in Peru. I’m not writing a research paper, or making un-biased political statements. I am speaking my mind, and writing about why I think and believe.

With my two points above, my main point is that you do not need to be a professor in Peruvian history to enter a discussion about Peru. Nor do you have to be Peruvian or live 10 years in Peru.

Just like you don’t even have to live in Denmark to talk and discuss about the Danish wellfare system. Actually it is often a great discussion I have with some of my US friends, when to compare South America, US & European systems, where we often have some great debates (and most of us would love to see a mix of the systems).

Lastly: nice to see the debate continues. Never be afraid of speaking your mind.

Best of luck

Totally agree with Kathy's comments. And the author's description of the last general election scenario in Peru confirmes her point: his little understanding of peruvian reality '3 decent candidates' lol-- And it's not like he has to understand it. With barely 3 years in a country you can't really form your own opinion, you are free to have one, but there is a high probability that it might be a biased one. It sounds to me that the idea the author has about this last election/peruvian politics stems more from what his friends have told him and/or peruvian media (and we know how unreliable peruvian media is) rather than actual research on the topic (wikipedia doesn't really count!). ;)
